Prof. Dr. Roland STAUDINGER, PhD, MSc.

Roland is a highly experienced senior executive with a strong background in top management positions in the international healthcare industry, governmental advisory positions and in the academic environment.

He served as Executive Vice-President and Member of the Executive Board of the FRESENIUS VAMED Group and he was in charge and responsible for more than ten years for the international business in Europe, Asia-Pacific, UK and additional selected markets for development, realization and operations of various types of health care facilities and business models, including several supervisory board and executive functions in subsidiaries in Europe and Asia (UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czech Republic, China).

Before that he was several years appointed as CEO of the largest public and academic hospital group in Western Austria – Tiroler Kliniken, where he was responsible for the strategy and operation of all hospitals and clinics. Within his engagement in this position, he forced more than 20 international joint ventures in biochemistry, medical informatics and technology with a strong connection to the US market and connection between academic, scientific and corporate stakeholders. He was advisor to several leading politicians and governmental bodies.

He was elected as Vice Rector of the Medical University Innsbruck, Austria, and responsible for clinical affairs. He co-founded UMIT – the first Central European university with a focus on digitalization and informatics in healthcare. His academic background is Law and Medical sciences, he holds a PhD in Law (Law Faculty of Innsbruck, public law and medical law) and a PhD in Medical sciences (Medical Faculty Halle Wittenberg, Germany, in public health). Was appointed to Professor by the President of the Republic of Austria. Is author of several books, articles and scientific papers in various fields.

He co-founded AQUILIA with the vision to implement ideas, findings and projects in an optimal risk-reward setting – and create a master piece and contribution to international healthcare provision.

Roland likes music, especially jazz, soul and musicals, literature of many kinds and genres, history and travelling.
