Dagmar is CEO and co-founder of AQUILIA GROUP – a dynamic global group founded with the vision to contribute to development and innovation of the international healthcare and lifestyle ecosystem.
AQUILIA operates under several companies with several initiatives in the pipeline – acting as a business owner, co-investor, developer and facilitator – and in selected cases as strategic advisor to high-level stakeholders. AQUILIA companies accomplished within its 3,5 years on the market complete conceptual planning and development of 3 medical facilities in Asia (complete medical, technical, financial and operational content – “ready to construct”). Also, invested and developed several initiatives in the field of digital healthcare. Among others is currently in the portfolio of the group a SW based on AI for cardiac medical outcomes, information system for nursing processes or an international platform for nursing experts.
Prior, Dagmar was more than 12 years in various management positions within FRESENIUS VAMED, a Fortune 500 international healthcare group. Started in the field of operational hospital management – as Vice-President of the VAMED mediterra Group, a hospital chain operating 7 hospitals and providing a wide range of services in acute care, follow-up care as well as preventive medicine in the Czech republic. On top of operational management tasks, she initiated and accomplished various initiatives, focusing on added value to financial results and effectivity, such as centralization and digitalization of procurement, organic growth via new service lines such as medical tourism or labour medicine and B2B concierge medical care. During that time she also was managing director of MEDNET, a company focusing on sales development and patient acquisition for medical facilities, medical marketing, Public Relations, HR recruitment and other services for hospitals and health care facilities.
Later she switched to the headquarters of the VAMED Group in Vienna, focusing on international business development and project management – in charge of market/business/portfolio development and project management in the field of medical services, hospitals and rehabilitation in many markets all over the world. She led a team, which has set up a lot of standards, market analytics, key business concepts and managed or participated in implementation of various projects and engagements in UK (co-lead VAMED UK market entry), China, South-East Asia, Australia – including stakeholder negotiations in the concrete markets and countries, medical content, business structuring and financial modelling. Prior that, Dagmar spent four years in Czech state-owned companies and initiatives, under the Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Culture, with focus on international public relations and affairs, marketing and business development.
Dagmar’s educational background is business. She holds a degree from the Open University Business School (United Kingdom), specialization business studies–management (diploma title) and an MBA degree with focus on management and leadership from Cambridge Business School (CBS). She has accomplished several top-level executive education programs and holds certificates from the Harvard Business School, focusing on Health Care delivery management (value-based healthcare with M.Porter and R.S.Kaplan) and Finance (general finance, entrepreneurship and venture capital, private equity and alternative investments), an executive education certificate from Columbia University – Finance (Value Investing), certifications from the Corporate Finance Institute – financial modelling and business valuation and a certificate from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) focusing on the topic of Artificial Intelligence in Health Care.
